The Weekly Review
May 16th, 2026
Hiya! Welcome back to another edition of The Weekly Review. Diving into some fun articles this week, got a steamer of workout for you that can be easily implemented on the road, and much more! This week was a great one. Celebrated 5 years of marriage to my amazing wife, had some beautiful weather, and just enjoyed each and every day for what it was. I have also been reducing my screen time by using Brick (just the app for now) and it has been amazing. Ironic that a phone app is helping me stay off my phone. Hey, whatever works. Okay, enough yapping, let’s dive into this week’s review!
Things I Found Interesting
All article links are in bold italics.
Last week, the U.S. Government decided to declassify UFO documents and they are really interesting. Check out some of the top photos from the files.
You may not keep up with what the kids are doing these days but the more I am around teenagers, the more I realize they speak an entirely different language. From “67” to “looks-maxxing”, here is your guide to modern day lingo.
Y’all know I am interested in clothing. I have really gotten into the history of certain clothing items and styles. All so neat. Check how the military has influenced most of our closet.
We have all heard that “sitting is the new smoking” but what if I told you that sitting on the ground for 30 minutes a day is actually good for you?
Picture of the Week
On My Mind
Choose joy. Let me put you on a little secret: if you just decide to take over and choose joy in everything you do in life, things will be much better. I promise you. Someone rude to you? Choose joy. Didn’t get the job you wanted? Choose joy. Just having an overly positive mindset is not that hard but it gives you so many rewards it’s unreal. This weekend and into next week, choose joy my friends.
Workout for the Week
I have a beach trip coming up so I have been thinking a lot about simple workouts I can do while traveling that are challenging, efficient, and quick. That’s what I have on deck for us today. When I travel to somewhere like the beach when I am usually driving there, I bring one kettlebell and a band. Barely takes up any room and gives me some other options for my workouts. Highly recommend. Okay, let’s dive in. Enjoy!

What I’m Listening To
This song has been on repeat lately. Fun jam that makes me excited for the summer time for some reason.
Motivation for the Week
"No one tells you running is 10 percent cardio and 90 percent negotiating with the voice begging you to quit."
- David DackI love this quote. I am not a big runner but I believe this quote can be applied to anything we are dealing with in life. A lot of “hard things” are 10% of actually doing them but the other 90% is fighting the mental battle within. Our heads love to trick us into self-limited beliefs. You have to take over. You have to establish imminent domain over your mind. There are plenty of people that can and will chime in on something you are doing in life, don’t let yourself be one of them.
Final Word
Middle of May already. It is amazing how fast time can fly by when we are either wishing it away or not being present in it. Take time this weekend to get outside, get off the phone, and to find rest where you are. Have a wonderful weekend!
Cheers,
