The Weekly Review
February 14th, 2026
Love is in the air! Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome back to The Weekly Review! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. We have been enjoying some amazing, warm weather that is getting me excited for the Spring. Like I mentioned earlier, Valentine’s Day is here! Hope you have some fun plans with your significant other and if you are single, well that is just fine as well. Go treat yourself! But first, let’s dive into this week’s review!
Things I Found Interesting
All article links are in bold italics.
As you are well aware, today is Valentine’s Day! A day dedicated to romance, flowers, fancy date nights, and much more. However, that wasn’t always the case. Read about the origins of Valentine's Day. Interesting stuff!
I have always been an early bedtime kind of guy. I would much rather wake up at 4:30am than stay out all night. I have had my fair share of late nights but it usually sets me back. Well, turns out, I was on to something. Staying up late can be bad for your heart. Now my 8:30pm bed time is even more justified!
The Winter Olympics have been going on and it has been fun to watch. I am always impressed by how easily people move on ice. From snowboarding to the ski jumps to the speed racing. Epic. But what always steals the spotlight are the uniforms from each country. Here are some of the best ones over the years.
I have recently subscribed to a website/newsletter called “anti-slop.” I have no idea if they even have a website, frankly I am not sure how I got subscribed but I am not complaining because I get articles like this one. It’s great.
Picture of the Week
On My Mind
You have to believe in yourself first. I have been reading a book about the power of your subconscious mind and it is eye-opening. Our subconscious mind operates based off what we tell it. It is not argumentative therefore, it can’t go back and fourth on whatever is said like our normal mind can. So, with all that being said, it is imperative that you believe in yourself before you set out to achieve something. You have to tell yourself you can do it. Plus, if you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect others to? Affirm it. Believe it.

Motivation for the Week
“The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment: You create a good future by creating a good present.”
- Eckhart TolleThis past week, I posted a quote from Marcus Aurelius about disturbing ourselves by imagining our whole life, all at once. Basically looking so far into the future that is causes you to panic, get depressed, or just be overwhelmed. I think this quote is a good piggy back off of that idea.
By being present and making the most of what is in front of us right now, the future will handle itself. I also believe that having a good faith in God can also allow us to be present. We don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need to know your 15-year plan. Having an idea is fine, but don’t let it be some concrete thing you have to adhere to. Focus on making the most of the present moment, the rest will take care of itself.
Final Word
Today is a day that is all about love and this might seem cheesy, but everyday should garner this much love and attention for our significant others. Don’t wait until the calendar tells you that you’re supposed to take your partner on a date. Do it on a random Tuesday. Get flowers for them every chance you get. Write love notes for fun. It should just happen regularly.
Y’all have a wonderful weekend. I’ll see you back here next week!
Cheers,
