The Weekly Review
February 28th, 2026
Howdy! I hope this week’s review finds you doing well! Can’t believe today is the last day of February! Wild. Feels like a shift is in the air. Not only with a new month ahead, but socially overall. This past week, closing out the Olympics, the men’s and women’s hockey teams taking home the gold. We saw a huge uptick in people cheering and celebrating. Something GOOD happening and being commemorated. Pride in our country. Appreciation for our athletes. It was inspiring. Good energy and we love that around here. So, let’s keep that energy going by diving into this week’s review!
Things I Found Interesting
All article links are in bold italics.
If you pay attention to men’s style, you probably have seen the name Sid Mashburn popup. Fantastic mind of men’s fashion. He reigns from Mississippi as well which is pretty cool. Anyway, this interview with him was really interesting. Now I just need to save up and buy some of their stuff!
This article is slightly concerning by eye-opening. We all know about the rapidly increasing usage of social media (which I predict will change in the next few years) but what’s even wilder is how social media shortens our lives.
Y’all know some of my interests include watches and military. This is an awesome story about Ron Damon, his journey from the Seals to becoming a Green Beret, and his watch. Check it out.
I have been really working on my mindset and approach to life. Having fun, regulating my nervous system. Things of that sort. Something I struggle with is Imposter Syndrome. And you might as well. However, what if we leaned into imposter syndrome? Interesting. short video!
Picture of the Week
On My Mind
The best cure to anxiety is action. I have found that sitting and doing nothing when anxiety creeps in does nothing for me. What does? Taking action. Doesn’t even have to be related to the thing you’re stressing over. For me, it’s taking a walk or knocking out some pushups. Or doing a small task to get some momentum going. I had anxiety about doing something this past week. Overthought it. Know what helped? Just doing the thing. Works every time.

What I’m Reading
Another Chad Zunker book! Love the simplicity he writes with. It’s like watching a conspiracy show play out. You aren’t too sure how everything is connected at first. Leaves you wondering and curious. Then he strategically lays something in a chapter that hooks you even further. Really enjoyed this one.
Rating: 8.6/10
What I’m Listening To
Little change up this week! This is a fantastic, slightly concerning podcast about our phone usage and what it’s doing to our brains. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Motivation for the Week
“Sometimes success is less about making good habits easy and more about making bad habits hard.”
- James ClearAs we approach the 3rd month of the year already, I am trying to do a little self evaluation. What is working? What’s not? What am I putting off? Are the habits I’m doing today benefiting the person I want to be in 90 days? If no, then some course correction must take place.
That’s when I think about this quote. Our habits are what will make us or break us. So, let’s make sure they are good. How do we do that? Reduce your bad habits. And that is done by making them harder. I am trying my best to not be on my phone and mindlessly scroll so much. So, when working, I put my phone out of arms reach. The effort to go across the room and get it is not worth it to me. Another example is working out (good habit). I lay out my gym clothes the night before and prep everything so I can get up and get after it.
Make bad things hard to do and good things easier to do. Simple as that.
Final Word
Y’all, life is truly amazing if you let it be. Please do not fall into the trap of doom and gloom. People want to be negative. Somehow, some way, that has become the default. Do not fall for it! Smile at people, get excited about small things, appreciate being alive and in the moment. I know times get hard, that will happen. But they will pass. Keep your head up.
Cheers,
