The Weekly Review
January 31st, 2026
Greetings! Happy last day of January! Cannot believe the first month of the year has flown by this quickly. I hope you stayed warm over the last week! It seems over half of the country dealt with blistering cold weather. I am not built for temperatures below 32 degrees. Spring time can’t get here soon enough. But, let’s not wish our lives away. Instead, let’s dive into this week’s review!
Things I Found Interesting

If you haven’t caught on yet, one of the best things you can do for your overall health is to get better sleep. Now, you readers with kids are probably saying “No kidding!” and I hear you. You just do what you can. But if you’re able to, here are some ways to sleep better in this new year.
This is an awesome clip from a Joe Rogan podcast with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. These 2 guys break down the future of movies and how AI will impact them. It is so cool to see people talk about something they have so much passion for and so much knowledge on. Pretty neat.
Over the last week and now this weekend included, you may or may not have experienced some intense cold weather. Snow, temperatures in the single digits, ice everywhere. It’s brutal. I don’t know how people up north do it! Much respect. The cold can be depressing in some ways, but here are several ways to stay happy during this cold weather and make the most of the newfound downtime to spend inside!
I will warn you, this is a long one. Grab a cup of coffee and check it out. This article is about technology and where it is going. Long one but good one!
Bonus: I mentioned this guy several months ago. Olympian. Now top of FBI Most Wanted List. Wild stuff. Here is an update on him!
Picture of the Week
On My Mind
Things that are not your fault can still be your responsibility. There are times in your life where something will happen and it won’t be your fault, but you have to handle it. It will happen! And that’s okay. Embrace it. Make the best of the situation, and do your best to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Workout for the Week
This past week was freezing, so working out in the garage was out of the picture. My little heater is only so powerful. Therefore, I have been inside hitting some HIIT workouts. Nothing like being able to work up a sweat even though it’s below freezing outside. Here is one from this past week that got the heart rate up and provided a good burn. Enjoy!

Dynamic Movements & Stretches
Jumping Jacks - 50
WORKOUT:
3 Rounds of each set. For EACH MOVEMENT, do 45 seconds of work, 15 seconds of rest. Then on to the next. Repeat 3 times then move on to the next set.

Motivation for the Week
"The more you create, the more powerful you become. The more you consume, the more powerful others become."
— James ClearI feel like every other week I am posting a James Clear quote. They just cut straight to the point. He was recently on the Huberman Lab podcast and it was really good. Go check it out! Anyways, let’s get to the quote.
It feels like we are constantly consuming in today’s world. Social media plays a large part in this consumption behavior but it’s everywhere. We are bombarded with information, ads, news, etc. Leaving us feeling burned out because our emotions are at the control of external influences. I know this because I struggle with this.
How do we fix it? Put down the phone or use the phone to create. Write, document, take pictures, call a friend. Create in a world designed for you to consume. Build, walk, workout, cook, do something. Don’t let your need for consumption fuel your daily life.
Final Word
Closing out January doing a little duck hunting, getting outside even though it’s cold, and making the most of every moment. I have had this idea of death lately (I know, dark) and it’s really setting in to me… we only get 1 life. That’s it. Do not waste it. Keep getting after it and enjoying every day!
Cheers,

You are so right: don’t waste our 1 life here on earth. The one asset we have that we can never get back is time. If we lose money we can make it back. Lose friends, we can make new ones. But time… we are not able to get back. God promises forgiveness and mercy when we mess up. But He does not guarantee us a tomorrow when we procrastinate. Let’s do our best to live each moment intentionally.
The Rogan clip was good. However, AI can already make full movies and scripts. The only thing stopping them from being published is the public’s intolerance to the horrible content. Once we’re dumb enough in, eh, 5 years? You can bet AI movies will be all the craze.
