The Weekly Review
February 21st, 2026
Hello and welcome back to the Weekly Review! I hope you this one finds you doing well. This past week was one of those whirlwind weeks. It started with a holiday on Monday and then playing catch up the rest of the time. Did a video shoot for a local business this past week which was a lot of fun! A lot of curveballs. But what helped me the most was sticking to my routine, taking things slow, and enjoying the moment. So, let’s pause and enjoy this week’s review!
Things I Found Interesting
All article links are in bold italics.
So far this year, I have really focused on calming my mind. I am usually a person who can be uptight and panic easily. I made it a goal to not do that so often this year. Letting things happen, breathing, and calming my nervous system. Not perfect but definitely improving. Here are 4 proven ways to keep a calm mind.
It seems that smartphones are everywhere nowadays. You can’t go far from seeing one or even hearing one. Well, it apparently is getting worse. Astronauts can now take smartphones into space. Crazy! Imagine hitting up your astronaut buddy and he hits you with a picture of Earth. Next level cool.
In today’s world, a lot of success boils down to who you know, not what you know. However, networking can be a daunting thing for a lot of people. Understandably so! But don’t let that hold you back from making a connection that might change your life. Here are some ways to help overcome that networking anxiety.
I am a sucker for a letter that was written by someone well-known a long time ago. Check out this article from Hunter S. Thompson regarding purpose. My favorite line from it is, “remember that all advice can only be a product of the man who gives it.”

What I’m Reading
Uh oh! New section alert! I have been on a reading kick lately and also have a book goal for the year. So, in order to share some interests and also hold myself accountable, I will be posting a book I have either read or currently reading.
I just wrapped up this book last week and I loved it. A combination of thriller, conspiracy, little bit of romance, all good things. It grabbed my interest from the start.
Song of the Week
I am really starting to get the itch for warmer weather and sunshine. This song makes me want to roll down the windows and just relax.
Motivation for the Week
“The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.”
- Alan WattsI love this quote. Y’all know my emphasis on being present and living a life well-lived. I feel like this quote embodies that. We live in a society that thinks working the most, rushing around, living in a state of panic and anxiety is just normal. Well, I would disagree. What’s the point of all of that if life is just passing you by? Not even pausing to be present with the people you love.
We think money, cars, watches, our job titles define success. But I get more excited about eating breakfast with my wife than some name brand watch. Being present then fulfills me more than anything.
In this wild world we live in, don’t forget to slow down and LIVE.
Final Word
The dawn of a new season is quickly approaching. Spring time is around the corner, daylight savings time ends soon (thank goodness), and warmer weather is on the way. However, let this be a reminder that we still need to be present. Take time this weekend to pause, slow down, and enjoy the moment. Put down the phone, go for a walk, take a breath. Make the most of your time.
See you next week!
Cheers,

Also struggle with being present and made it a goal of mine to be better at that!
