The Weekly Review
February 7th, 2026
Hello and welcome to the first February edition of the Weekly Review! It is Super Bowl weekend and I always get excited for it. I am not the biggest NFL fan but the Super Bowl seems to be iconic. Some cool storylines surrounding this game so I am looking forward to tuning in. With that being said, let’s dive into this week’s review!
Things I Found Interesting
All article links are in bold italics.
One thing I despise about winter is how hard it is to get good sunlight. It feels like I can never get enough. It’s primarily dark when we aren’t at work. Good thing Brett McKay can tell us how to get more sunlight during the winter.
In honor of the Super Bowl, check out this awesome article highlighting stories of each Super Bowl ring. Love history and reading these was neat.
As someone who gets sick more often than not, I have always been curious about something - how do Olympians stay healthy when they are training hard, traveling all over the world, doing tons of press things leading up the games? Well, here is the answer to that. Going to have to start implementing some of these tactics!
For some reason, I am just fascinated with the Special Forces. I think they are so neat. Maybe it’s the secrecy or the insane skill levels they have. So awesome. Here is a cool look inside the various Special Forces groups all over the world.
Picture of the Week
On My Mind
You have to be able to get yourself out of a bad state quickly. I read this somewhere not long ago and it stuck with me. Some days, I can be driven into a bad mood pretty quickly. Once in that bad mood, it can be easy to stay in it. However, I have been working on getting myself out of it faster. Stopping and doing something that makes me happy. Or just stopping and taking a breath. Not letting one moment or one bad thing ruin my whole day.
Workout for the Week
Sometimes, well really most of the time, simplicity wins. This past week, there was a morning that my journaling session took longer than expected. Therefore, my time window for working out shrunk. I didn’t want to skip the gym so I came up with the workout below. Nothing crazy, just intense work for less than 15 minutes. By the end, I was feeling it. Don’t overcomplicate it. Just move your body. Enjoy!
WARM-UP:
Dynamic Movements & Stretches
Jumping Jacks - 25
Shoulder Taps - 25
WORKOUT:
12 Minutes, EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute), Complete:

Pullups - 5
Modify where needed.
COOLDOWN:

GET SOME.
Song of the Week
Sometimes I like to change up my music taste. Love a good, upbeat song. Playing this in the morning always gets my energy levels up!
Motivation for the Week
“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.”
― Francois Auguste De ChateaubriandLong quote but a good one! I have talked about “being great” at everything we do. This quote plays into that idea. I feel like it adds a layer of having fun and approaching whatever we are doing with a sense of optimism and happiness. There is something about doing a task to the best of our ability, with a smile on our face at all times.
This week, let’s embody excellence in all that we do.
Final Word
Life is a lot like the journey to the Super Bowl. These 2 teams playing in the big game this weekend didn’t just end up there by accident. It wasn’t predetermined (or was it…?) These teams started preparing for this moment long ago. They faced trials and leaned on one another to get through them. Life is very similar. It’s hard to see the fruit of our work right now, but over time, the results will reap themselves. Keep going.
Cheers,

Loved this one! Simple, thoughtful, and grounded. The reminder to get yourself out of a bad state quickly paired with the “don’t overcomplicate it, just move” workout really landed.
